About the Author

Ryder Windham is the author of more than sixty Star Wars titles, including Star Wars Blueprints: The Ultimate Collection and the New York Times bestselling Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide. My Star Wars fanatic has spent hours, if not days or weeks, learning about the most obscure details of the galaxy. I don't know when knowing the difference between a nexu and and acklay will come in handy in her life, but when that day comes... ready she will be.

Bought this book for my daughter several years ago and she absolutely loves it! Now with the new movie out (The Force Awakens) she's absorbing herself into the book all over again. Great book with lots of details (maybe a little to graphic for younger children though).! Thanks!

Comprehensive look at the Star Wars Movie Universe

This is one of the best books written on Star Wars. It covers a very high level of detail concerning the two triologies, presented in the order of movie chronology. Episodes I-III are presented in separate sections, while Episodes IV-VI are combined into one larger section.
This book is mostly a rundown of characters. Major characters are offered two pages and/or cutout sections, while more minor characters are given very decent amounts of page space. Besides characters, you learn a great deal about every single weapon and ship used in the six movies, as well as costumes, other equipment, planets visited and more. I never knew such high level of deatil existed on the character backgrounds and weapons, let alone having been studied. It is amazing to know the exact equipment set of each storm trooper, clone trooper, Jedi, as well as R2-D2, vulture droids, you name it, and you will find it.
I have never been a huge fan of the expanded Star Wars universe, so I very much appreciate the decision of the authors to concentrate on the canon movie trilogies. You see some tidibts as part of the elaboration of character backgrounds that contain information from expanded universe (for example, Boba Fett having survived the Sarlacc pit), but this is never over-done, and there appears to be a principle to keep most everything within the canon universe. It is chock-full of information and therefore takes a while to finish, but it is a great read, with fun information and very high-resolution photos. Highly recommended and addictive!

About the Author
The late James Stewart received his M.S. from Stanford University and his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. He did research at the University of London and was influenced by the famous mathematician George Polya at Stanford University. Stewart was most recently Professor of Mathematics at McMaster University, and his research field was harmonic analysis. Stewart was the author of a best-selling calculus textbook series published by Cengage Learning, including CALCULUS, CALCULUS: EARLY TRANSCENDENTALS, and CALCULUS: CONCEPTS AND CONTEXTS, as well as a series of precalculus texts.

Most content in this is word for word the same as the first edition, which I already had to buy for Calculus I. Why should a student have to pay 300 dollars for copies of an almost identical book? Text book business models are ridiculous and shameful.

No Changes!

The only thing that is different with this edition is that the problem numbers have changed! Making it incompatible for homework! In any other industry, this would not be tolerated at all! Why does the textbook industry get to resell the same books for full price?!

Pretty Decent.

If you'll notice above, the description states it is a book meant to be as concise as possible, which I believe the author definitely achieved. However, this drive to be as small as possible without lacking 'essential' topics is cheating to the beginning calculus student. Concepts should be thoroughly explained and end of chapter questions should match or slightly exceed the level of difficulty of the explained concepts in the chapter - not heavily exceed it, this is where I took off a star. I understand that the goal of end of chapter questions is to challenge the student, but the lack of thorough explanations in an effort to be as concise as possible does not prepare the student for these questions, in my opinion. Therefore, I had to seek out other materials.

In the end, I found this book to laid out very well and amazingly, for a math book, somewhat easy to read. I supplemented this book with the Idiots Guide to Calculus, which was a life saver on certain topics and went even further with Stewart's Solution Manual for this book. The purchasing of these two additional books, I hope, may be an indicator of the lack of thoroughness for achieving as small a book as possible.

Being new to learning about body language this audio book really kicked off my learning. The author is the leading authority on body language and gives easy to fallow instructions as well as good example of said body language. I also like how he states that body language is subjective EX) someone might have received bad news before interacting with you so what one might read as this person not interested in them is really them having a negative experience before talking with you.

I will say that I wish it was more in depth with more secrets of body language, but overall excellent for beginners.

This audio seminar is well worth the time and money. Joe Navarro gives good detail about body language from a person's feet to various aspects of the face. He is easy to understand and knowledgeable about the subject material. I would recommend this to anyone interested in learning more about body language even if they owned all of Navarro's books. Utilize the printable workbook and enhance remembering the material covered. You can go back later and listen to the cd's again or glance over the workbook as ways to refresh your memory.

About the Author
Jeffrey T. Child is an Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Kent State University. He joined the faculty ranks at Kent State University in August of 2007. Jeff completed his doctoral studies and earned his Ph.D. degree from North Dakota State University in 2007. Jeff’s primary research explores how people manage their privacy when interacting on social media and the impact of a variety of factors on the subsequent communication practices. Jeff received his B.A. in 2002 from Wayne State College (WSC) in Northeastern Nebraska. While at WSC Jeff studied organizational communication, corporate and community relations, and public relations. Jeff has over 30 publications that advance an understanding of communication in three main areas: 1) communication technologies and human interaction, 2) interpersonal and family communication from diverse cultural perspectives, and 3) instructional communication effectiveness. Jeff is a lifetime member of the National Communication Association (NCA), the International Communication Association (ICA), the Eastern Communication Association (ECA), and the Central States Communication Association (CSCA). He has presented over 40 research paper presentations in conjunction with the conventions of these associations and served in various leadership capacities for these organizations.

Judy C. Pearson was Associate Dean of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences and Professor of Communication at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota, and Director of the Northern Virginia Center for Virginia Tech in Falls Church, Virginia. She has co-authored over 30 text and trade books and more than 100 scholarly articles and chapters in edited books. Judy has served as the President of the Central States Communication Association, the World Communication Association, and the National Communication Association. She met Paul E. Nelson at a basic course directors meeting, married him, and the couple has six children. The two have been producing basic course books together ever since.

Paul E. Nelson was Director of the Honors College at the University of Missouri, Departmental Executive Officer at Iowa State University, Dean of the College of Communication at Ohio University, and Chair of the Political Science Department and Head of the Department of Communication at North Dakota State University. He has co-authored many textbooks with his spouse and colleague, Dr. Judy C. Pearson.
